Beat Avery 93-35. They're the real deal. Best player and top sophomore King mcClure didn't play tonight and his dad said he wouldn't play the rest of the season. Some sort of knee injury.

Wow. If they're able to win state without McClure ...

I don't see anyone playing close with them. They didn't press much in the game and subbed repeatedly and still won by 58.

I'm the coach @ Avery. They pressed the ENTIRE first half, in a 1-2-1-1. Our starting pg was already out w/ an ACL. My backup pg was put out of the game on a HARD foul, start of 2nd qrtr, except there was NO FOUL called. He has 5 stitches in his eye, from the foul. We shot our first Free Throws of the game, w/ 5:30 left in the THIRD QUARTER! They had 17 "clean " blocked shots til that point!!! They ran a Run-N-Jump 1/2 court the ENTIRE 2nd half (well, until 53 seconds were left). They did sub repeatedly, & my 3rd string pg went out early in the 2nd w/ a sprained ankle. It wouldn't have mattered though, as they are just that good.
Their kids play hard & w/ class. I will refrain from comments about their coach. Barring something crazy , they will win state & win it easy. They are far better than Clarksville was last year. I should know, we played Clarksville 4x in the last 2 years. If AAA wins it all, we will have played 3 probable State champs in less than 14 months (Clarksville, AAA, Roxton)....which is kinda cool (I guess, in a gettin your butt kicked kind of way)

I just noticed on twitter that Triple A's girls are going to Austin.  I'm sure this will add more fuel to the fire once both state tournaments are over.  It will be interesting to see what UIL does or if they react to all this.  Something needs to be done.

Their girls team could've been even better. Had a rising soph who had been committed to Baylor since 8th grade transfer away to Skyline before the start of the year.

While we are talking about the likelihood of see Triple A, a charter school in their first year of competition in UIL, in the state tournament.  I thought I would point something out to you that you could keep track of in the playoffs.  There is a possibility that there could be 2 1A charter schools at the state tournament.  In 1A-I region 1, El Paso Harmony out of district 7 won their district handily.  They won their first playoff game in area by 20 points.  They play Farwell on tuesday, who is considered one of the better teams in the region.  If they win that game, I think they are a definite darkhorse to win that region.  If you look at the TABC rankings, there are no region 1 teams ranked in the top 10.  El Paso Harmony jumped in the rankings at the end of the season after they blew through their district.  There hasnt been one team in that region that has separated themselves and shown they're the team to beat so that region is very wide open.  Hale Center was considered the best team in that region in the preseason, but they have somewhat disappointed this season and they lost by 20 last night to Vega, who was the 2nd place team in a district.  No matter who wins that region though, they'll be huge underdogs to any of the 3 other teams at state.

WHo ever thougth 1A would be ruled by am AAU organization, under the guise of a Charter school. AAU Dallas stallions is what they have been the last 5 years, since 5th graders, & now they are the AAA Stgallions. Same kids, same coaches, same uniforms...
