I like your rankings better. I think San Augustine is too high. Dropping down will benefit them, but they weren't even a playoff team last year. I know they return a lot, but not sure what to expect from them in 1A. With Broaddus and West Sabine in their district, there is a possibility that they maybe even finish third in their district. I think they should have been around 20 and prove themselves first.
Surprised to see Crockett at #22. I figured they would be a little higher.
Didn't expect to see Oakwood as high as they are. A lot of athletes and potential, but figured they would be lower on the opening poll.

Looks good. Didn't take any time for the legend of Triple A to filter its way to the TABC. A little less than 3 weeks 'til they take on #10 in 5A South Grand Prairie.

It's nice to see Honey Grove make an appearance in the rankings. As I've stated previously I'm not at all sold on Mart and am surprised that Tenaha has been placed that low. I also echo topher's thoughts on San Augustine.

I'm convinced the name on the front of the jersey goes a long way in these rankings.

I originally had Mart higher in my rankings, then saw where they tied for 2nd in a district that wasnt extremely strong before they entered the playoffs last year.  It was obvious region 2 wasnt as strong as region 3 last year.  So even though Mart made the regional finals in region 2, i'm gonna make them prove themselves in region 3 this year.  I also got very little info on Mart, but what little I heard was that they were young and supposed to have everyone back.  San Augustine was in a pretty good district last year with Central Heights, Woden and Newton.  They were missing one of their best players for a few games in district last year that costs them a few games including one to Newton and another team in district that caused them to miss the playoffs.  They ended up beating Newton, the 3rd place team, in the last game in district.  They did play Broaddus last year and beat them by 15-17 points.  I know they have everyone back and are supposed to be deep.  Rick Flair stated on my rankings thread that he thought Broaddus should be higher.  They were a team I considered moving up because I'd heard a lot of good things about them and wouldnt be surprised if they did.  We'll find out pretty early how good some of these teams are because Broaddus, Martinsville, and Lapoynor are all in the same tournament Nov 15-17.  Plus Broaddus, Martinsville, Tenaha, and San Augustine are all in the same general area so we should get an idea early in the season where these teams fall.

Past reputation helps a little. Surprised Trinity didn't appear in the 20's somewhere...

Yeaaa me too. I'm thinking losing two players from a district championship team could get Trinity in somewhere .

San Augustine also beat Woden at Woden last year by 8.

Maybe I'm underestimating San Augustine, and if so, thank goodness I'm not a coach...I just think they have to show something at 1A before getting such a lofty ranking. I feel the same about Stephenville as well.

Martinsville had a good team last year. They must have graduated some good players. Thought they would be higher than 15

The problem that Martinsville has is that they have moved up to Division I. They did graduate a few, but I hear they have a move in that is supposed to be pretty good.
