Here are my thoughts on the rankings and I'd like to hear yours.  In 1A-II, I dont think anyone is surprised by the top 3.  25-1A-II is making a big impression on the rankings again this year with 3 teams in the top 11.  Texline's district also boasts 3 teams in the top 18.  Region 4 had has 4 teams in the top 11.  Region 3's two top teams reside in the same district in Huckabay and Lingleville.  The biggest surprise to some I think would be Roxton's absence from the rankings.  They graduated quite a bit so it shouldnt be shocking, but we'll see if they can work their way in.  In 1A-I, with AAA's departure its no surprise to see Mumford at #1.  1A-I region 3 was represented strongly again with 8 ranked teams and 4 in the top 9.  I dont know if there was any other surprises in 1A-I.  In 2A, the 2 most notable things i've seen people mention is Kountze being #1 and White Oak dropping to #18 after winning back to back state championships.  I know many WO fans arent happy about this.  But when you lose 3 great players like they had last season, its hard to believe they wont at least take a small step back this season.  Region 1 has the most ranked teams with 8 and Region 4 doesnt have a ranked team until 10 and 11 with Hallettsville and East Chambers.  I think of the 3 lowest classes, 2A seems the most wide open.  In 3A, the top 3 werent all that surprising, I think people were just curious to find out what order.  I think its worth noting that 5 of the top 9 teams are around the Houston or Dallas ISD area.  I dont know how popular that is with the rest of the state.  Regions 1,2 and 3 all have 7 teams in the polls and region 4 has only 4 teams.  There is some of my observations. What do yall think? Who is ranked to high or too low or should or shouldnt be ranked?

I think rankings are way overrated. They mean nothing and I think too many people get hyped up about them. As for what I saw, everything looked pretty accurate. Roxton graduated about about 55-60 points a game..maybe more. They return one player who played a lot. White Oak graduated three really good players, regardless of winning back to back championships, these ranking are for this year! I am happy Mumford is number 1 again, they deserve it! As for Triple A, they should probably be higher than number one in my opinion.

1A-DI seems right to me. I might have put San Augustine a few spots higher as they return a few players and are always extremely athletic. Either way, there will be plenty of twists and turns throughout the year that will shake things up.
I was surprised to see Crockett at #21 in 2A with Westwood missing from the polls. I expect that district to be much more competitive this time around.
Still, there will be a lot of good basketball to watch this year...
