If you follow me on twitter (@hoopinsider), you wouldve seen my prediction of Douglass dropping out of the rankings, which they did.  Its hard to be ranked with you're 2-3 in district and in 5th place.  But I think if they can go on a run, it wouldnt take much for them to jump back in.  Not a whole lot happened this week.  The main notable changes were Clarksville dropping back to #10, La Vega dropping out after their loss to West, and Mexia jumping in the rankings after their OT win over #21 Fairfield.  What are your reactions to the newest rankings?

Clarksville dropping to the 10th spot is surprising....they were supposed to be one of the top teams this year in class 2A but I have a feeling they will there toward the's gonna be great basketball!

If I had to guess, I'd say they dropped because they lost to Ponder at whataburger and Ponder moved ahead of them. This was probably a move TABC overlooked after the holidays then corrected it this week.

Douglass may be fine, it looks like if you get third in district you won't have to meet Calvert until regionals. By getting last in district they may be able to go farther in the playoffs.

Go look at the bracket projections I posted. 3rd place gets Calvert in area and then plays 1st in their district in the regional quarters. 2nd place is the best position to be in. You avoid all 3 till the regional finals.

Not many Jacksonville fans on here, but they are rolling this year. Undefeated still and got off to a nice start in district. Their showdown against JT should be a good one...
