They're in district 11-3A with Madison and Wilmer, and um, seems they are rather loaded with some big-time transfers. Per espn.com, they got two 4-star post players and a 3-star guard in their senior class, and a 5-star guard in their junior class. Are those dudes gonna be eligible? Apparently Prime Prep was cleared to play varsity in everything but football, and they're already talking some trash on twitter about coming for Yates.

Their names are Karviar Shepherd (6'10", 4*, offers from KU, OU, UT, A&M), Jordan Mickey (6'8", 4*, ARK, LSU, both OSUs), Shirmane Thomas (6'3", 3*, Creighton, Nebraska, Santa Clara), and Emmanuel Mudiay (6'4", 5*, KU, OU, UT).

I still think these charter schools should be competing in TAPPS for their first couple of years. Prime Prep has been beyond sketchy from the get go. Open enrollment in Dallas is just too much. It is an All-Star team playing against other high schools.
Still, that is a very talented team, one that will be a lot of fun to watch when they get their shot at Yates.

Rumor on another board is that Prime Prep will field two teams ; one full of these superstars who won't be eligible for UIL competition anyway, and who will instead barnstorm around the country playing in big deal national tournaments and such, and another, less talented team which will play in the UIL.

11-3A DEC ruled that Shepherd and Mudiay are ineligible (Prime Prep already said they're going to appeal), and they've postponed making a decision on Thomas. Mickey is the only one of the DI guys who will be able to play as of right now.
