I'm not sure if I would have jumped San Augustine all the way up to #1, but it is definitely time to take notice of San Augustine as a serious contender in Region 3.  We will know all we need to know after Friday night as the Wolves head to Grapeland.  Gonna be a fun one.

1A DivII - Would the Slidell Greyhounds be considered East Texas?  If so you might consider them in your top 10.  They are currently ranked 25th in the TABC state rankings with a 15-2 record.  They should probably be 17-0 but the injury bug bit them a couple of weeks ago and they were missing 3 starters during their 2 losses.  2 of the starters have returned and the 3rd is set to return tomorrow to open district play.  Very quick athletic team, shoots the ball well, and are very well coached.

8 of the top 10 teams are ranked in TABC, and Kennard at 9 might be ranked but nobody can ever get their scores or info. I don't consider Slidell east Texas but I would like to keep up with their district standings. Who did Slidell lose to and what are their biggest wins?

Slidell lost to Era in the Era tournament champioship game (already had beat them once this year by 20) - missing 1 starter when tournament began and lost 2 more during the tournament to injury, and lost to Santo by 5 with 3 starters out.  Slidell beat Chico 63-34 this season and Chico lost to Graford (ranked #12 TABC) by only 2 points last week.  They also beat 2A Paradise earlier this season - not a strong team in 2A but would be very competitive in the smaller 1A division.  Outscoring opponents an average of 30 per game.

# 23 Walker is excellent player. I don't think game will be that close. San Augustine by 10 or more

2A looks pretty good!  Interesting district involving White Oak and Tatum.  There will be a good team missing out on the playoffs in that one.  Jefferson and Waskom will both be very good this year and could both possibly be ranked at some time during the year?  Waskom has already beat some quality teams, such as Hudson, Laneville, Tyler Chappell Hill, and New Summerfield.  Jefferson usually starts out slow, but look out for them as well!

According to this ranking number 2,3,4,8, and 9 are all in the same district. That seems unreal. district 25 has some good basketball coming up.
